Nieuwe elektrische Audi e-tron SUV standaard uitgerust met Bridgestone


De laatste stap in een sterke samenwerking waarbij Bridgestone de grootste bandenleverancier is van Audi

Zaventem, 21 januari 2019 – Audi werkt samen met Bridgestone, wereldwijd marktleider in de bandensector, aan de lancering van zijn eerste volledig elektrische SUV: de Audi e-tron. Audi heeft Bridgestone geselecteerd voor de levering van zes verschillende banden als originele uitrusting. De twee bedrijven ontwikkelden samen een lijst van eisen die de specifieke kenmerken van het nieuwe model benadrukken, van de spectaculaire acceleratie tot ultiem comfort en geluidloos rijden. Dit allemaal zonder af te doen aan de veiligheid en de prestaties.

Snelheid en veiligheid
De Audi e-tron wordt aangedreven door twee elektrische motoren en heeft een indrukwekkende acceleratie. Vanuit stilstand bereikt de auto een snelheid van 100 km/uur in minder dan zes seconden. Hiervoor zijn banden met optimaal wegcontact noodzakelijk, om goede wegligging en uitstekende remprestaties te garanderen. De Bridgestone Alenza 001 zomerband is speciaal ontworpen voor SUV’s. De band heeft een blokstructuur die het contact met de weg optimaliseert om de stuurrespons in bochten en de stabiliteit bij het rechtuit rijden te verbeteren. De band is gewaardeerd met een EU-bandenlabel klasse A voor grip op nat wegdek.

Voor de winterse omstandigheden levert Bridgestone de Blizzak LM 001. Deze band is zeer betrouwbaar bij het nemen van bochten en heeft een uitstekende wegligging op natte, droge, ijzige, modderige en besneeuwde wegen. De rubbersamenstelling met silica, gecombineerd met Bridgestone’s Nano Pro-Tech polymeer, zorgt voor uitstekende grip.

Uitstekende rolweerstand voor optimale autonomie
Autonomie is een van de belangrijkste aspecten van een volledig elektrisch voertuig. Dit is enkel mogelijk bij een lage rolweerstand, een categorie waarin de Bridgestone banden het EU-bandenlabel klasse A hebben gekregen. Dankzij de lage rolweerstand van de banden kan de Audi e-tron 400 kilometer afleggen met slechts één batterijlading. Daarnaast bieden de banden uitstekende slijtvastheid en optimaliseren ze het rijplezier en de rijervaring.

Het geluid van stilte
Het merk Audi staat synoniem voor luxe en comfort. Omdat de elektrische e-tron Audi’s eerste elektrische auto is, wilde Audi juist extra nadruk leggen op de verschillen. Naast de fluisterstille motor zijn daarom dubbele ruiten die het geluid dempen en speciale afdichtingen in het ontwerp verwerkt. Het doel is om de bestuurder de stilte van de motor te laten ‘horen’. Bridgestone haakt hierop in door in de banden zijn eigen B-Silent technologie toe te passen om het geluid te minimaliseren. De holle ruimten in de band worden opgevuld om echo’s te verminderen en de wanden en de structuur van de band worden versterkt. Dit minimaliseert trillingen en weerkaatsing door de beweging van de banden op de weg.

Tevreden en trots
De goedkeuring van de verschillende Bridgestone banden als originele uitrusting van de volledig elektrische Audi e-tron is de laatste stap in een sterke samenwerking tussen Bridgestone en Audi. Audi heeft eerder al van Bridgestone zijn grootste bandenleverancier gemaakt.
